Followed in 1992 by the reunion TV movie (with Vernon returning to the role): Wojeck: Out of the Fire.

Considered the first major dramatic Canadian TV series to be a bona fide "hit", Wojeck is said to have inspired a number of later series involving coroners solving crimes, most notably Quincy, M.E. (Wojeck itself was based upon the career of a noted Canadian coroner-turned-politician named Dr. Morton Shulman). The series was reportedly only cancelled in 1968 because John Vernon left to continue his acting career in Hollywood.
