The Odeon stickers were likely added by US Capitol for distribution there, so that RCA wouldn't kick up a fuss; I've got a late 70s Capitol catalogue lying around somewhere, and if I find it I'll check to see whether this is listed (I know it listed some UK HMV Greensleeves issues as Odeon, but I'm not sure about any others).

That label is World Pacific (not Pacific World).
My puzzlement over the two 1966-67 issues is this: an artist usually has an exclusive contract with one label, or the master of a given work is owned by one company. But in this case World Pacific (owned by Liberty) and Capitol (owned by EMI) were issuing the same material almost simultaneously. I imagine that these old EMI recordings had been offered to Capitol first, as the 1957 Angel release shows. But Shankar then had a steady series of US World Pacific albums, some consisting of older material licensed from EMI, and some newly recorded in L.A.

The first Stereo version appears in 1967 on Pacific World Rec. WPS-21438 (USA stereo)
and Capitol DT 2720 "Duophonic" Stereo.

I don't know if there are months between the releases of the stereo versions but this detail doesn't seem so important to me.

It was released as part of Columbia Records' series entitled "Adventures in Sound" which was begun in 1958 ostensibly as part of Columbia's celebrations of the 10th anniversary of their introduction of the LP. This series was one of the first to be devoted to world music on a major record label. Capitol Records would eventually produce a similar series entitled "Capitol of the World" featuring several reissues of EMI India titles.

The album was recorded in New York in 1957 and produced by noted producer George Avakian (uncredited). It was released as an LP in 1958. There have been multiple reissues and cover art changes but this is the earliest available edition.

This edition was "Electronically Re-Channeled" for Stereo in 1968.

Issued in the UK in 1962. Also issued in mono as WP-1430. My copy has a stereo sleeve with a mono liner.
