There are links on the entry page here that prove Captured Tracks is an independent USA based label. Therefore chrisb and myself believe we should treat this the same as we treat other indie labels and list this as a USA release. Notes can be made on individual re-releases to record minor differences such as vinyl colour, countries of release as they appear. Modern indie labels seem to have a habit of releasing the same cat# album in multiple varieties changing each short production slightly every time. See the link on the page to the X-ray-spex album as example of this and also as a template for how this release should be dealt with moving forward."

@Lee Wrecker, I like the idea of listing all the different limited edition coloured vinyls/barcodes/release dates in the notes under the one entry, like the X-Ray Specs album you purchased, particularly as another new colour (Ube) and barcode limited edition of this Lemon Twigs album is on the way in November ‘24. I also note there’s already 5 listings for their last album Everything Harmony on here for this same reason. And as these albums are sold in stores around the globe, either the USA or maybe International identifier is best used? Are these records pressed in different countries?
I’m not sure if Discogs have this right, but they suggest some of the different limited editions are for release in different specific areas ( e.g. different combinations of USA and/or Europe and/or U.K. and/or Canada etc)
It is confusing…..

The Captured Tracks label is to my mind what would be classified as a USA based independent label. It is very similar to Creation or Rough Trade in the UK in that regard. The usual policy is that labels like this one are usually listed as from the label's country of origin and in this case that would be the USA. This record of mine was bought in Australia but is still listed as a USA release because of the way we deal with independent labels on the site.
The other thing to note about the linked entry is that it is also similar in that it has multiple versions with different coloured vinyl and different barcodes for each. This approach avoids the need to make a new entry every time the label represses in a slightly different way. Perhaps we should list releases on Captured Tracks as USA releases as we do with other similar modern independent labels? What do people think (...and I don't mean about the election!)?

There are several (I think 5) different editions of this LP comprising different vinyl colour, inserts etc. barcodes and combination of countries of release.
This limited edition released in USA, Canada and Europe (I purchased this in a record store in the UK)
