There is also confusion between side A and Side B about the date of first pressing of this record. 1964 for the A side but 1958 for the B side.

Despite appearances, both of these labels are (relatively) dark blue with silver text. Not white text, as might appear to be the case.

Because these were pressed at Decca, my copy came with one of the original red-bordered Mono Decca sleeves. My copy has a different layout with the matrix code, notably missing from the bottom of the label but found (A la Decca) in brackets above the catalogue number.

They took the opportunity, with the redesign of the label, to add Side 1 and Side 2 because that had not been present apart from within the matrix codes at the bottom of the label. Not helpful for people trying to play the record in order.

Little Pot Stove was originally "Wee Pot Stove" and was written by Harry Robertson for his LP "Whale Chasing Men". Nic Jones did not claim songwriting credit but allocated it Copyright Control "C.C.". probably because he didn't know who wrote it at the time.

Likewise he did not credit himself or "Trad. Arr." for "Farewell To The Gold" which was written by Australian Paul Metsers, a wonderful songwriter, who performed it himself on one of his several LPs.

Of course Martyn Wyndham Read is incorrectly spelled here with an extra "e" added to his surname.
