BEATLEJOHN 29th Jun 2018		Vinyl Album Simon And Garfunkel - Bookends (1968)	Okay folks.....found another mono copy (for a quarter!) at a local library book sale....looks like hell, but what the hell..... ordway1440 is speaking the truth!...this copy is mixed for mono!...(in fact the whole album is slightly sped up from the stereo)...Fakin' It (yes it's edited) and At The Zoo are the single mixes!!! The cross fade from "Child" to "America" is quicker...Punky's Dilemma has extra harmony voices not found on the stereo mix...(though "Hazy" seems like a fold down of the stereo mix an not the single mix...in fact this song is as not as loud as the others on the rest of this mono album) here are the matrixes... .Side One: (handwritten) XLP 118885 -2B and An upside down "C"...(with an "A" on the opposite side) Side Two: (handwritten) XLP 118886 -2F and a backwards "C"..(with what looks like a backwards "S" with two backslashes "\\" on the opposite side

BEATLEJOHN 27th Jun 2018		Vinyl Album Spinners - The Best Of Spinners (1978)	Just noticed that the front cover drawing though not impossible, it is incredibly awkward....that's a left hand on a right handed tone arm....I remember seeing lefties using a turntable with their index finger underneath the tone arm and their pinky facing outward ( not inward and over the tone arm)...I only noticed this because my daughter is left handed and I would see how she deals with things in a right handed household (and world)....John
BEATLEJOHN 21st Jun 2018		Vinyl Album The Walker Brothers - Portrait (1966)	Refreshed images and added the "Portrait" insert...One of the first UK albums I ever owned...around 1969/70 or so our local Woolworths for some reason had gotten some British Lps and had them on sale for 2 dollars (not that expensive!)...most of them were on the Philips/Fontana labels...(The other common album was the Mindbenders first Lp)....John

(1971)	Amazing how 23 Neil Diamond tracks recorded for Bang equal 5 US Bang albums!...(I think this is the worst abuse of an earlier label) ..right up there with Donovan's 30 Hickory tracks equal 5 US Hickory albums.....(Johnny Cash's Sun material made quite a few rounds but he was with the label awhile) John

BEATLEJOHN 1st Jun 2018		Vinyl Album Various Artists - It's Happening (1969)	I remember keeping this album because one of the Supremes tracks was in true stereo here whereas on its original album it was in mono......Damned if I can remember which one...(I think it was "Sign You Are"...but Alzheimer's has kicked in....) I don't have the original Lps anymore to compare against ...and all of the tracks have surfaced in stereo on CDs..(so now I'm just keeping this for the novelty of it!)....John
