Bomber501 23rd Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumKenny Rogers - Ten Years Of Gold (1978) | There are 2 variations of the back jacket:
-One has the track titles above Roger's photo.
-The other has all text to the left of the photo (nothing above it)

Bomber501 19th Jun 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumBoz Scaggs - Silk Degrees (1976) | What's the source for the Feb 18 release date?
Bomber501 14th Jun 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumLesley Gore - Lesley Gore Sings Of Mixed-Up Hearts (1963) | I'd like to know about the ●● as well. I saw a Smothers Bros red label with just one ●
Bomber501 9th May 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumU2 - Under A Blood Red Sky (1983) | Earliest pressings have side 2 track 2 at 5:18. Subsequent pressings edited to 4:51.
Bomber501 6th Feb 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumUB40 - 1980-83 (1983) | There are 2 label variants. One lists "New Claims" publishing for all tracks on side 1, stated at the bottom (I assume earliest pressings). The other shows separate publishing credits for tracks A1 & A2.
Also, all US pressings the back jacket credits for side 2 incorrectly mention the 'recorded at' tracks as "1-3" and "3 & 4", supposed to be "1-3" and "4 & 5".

Bomber501 21st Nov 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Dave Clark Five - Glad All Over (1964) | Can anyone narrow down approx to when the "Mfd by Eros" text began appearing on these US releases?
Bomber501 14th Sep 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumHaircut One Hundred - Pelican West (1982) | Arista re-issued this album 4 different times in 4 years!
-AL-9607, first re-issue earlier in 1983.
-AL8-8035, later in 1983 when Arista became part of BMG/Bertelsmann. 8.98 list.
-AL5-8223 in 1984/85, 5.98 list.
-AL6-8330 1987. 6.98 list, same cat # as the CD re-issue.

Bomber501 13th Jul 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumJim Croce - You Don't Mess Around With Jim (1972) | Jackets with the green "Time In a Bottle" box are 2nd pressings.
Bomber501 10th Jul 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumSonny And Cher - All I Ever Need Is You (1972) | Seems odd they would still be using the older black label for a budget re-issue at this time but apparently that's what this is as you suggest-not necessarliy at a budget price however. (I also checked other Kapp titles beginning with KRS and the majority of them are soundtracks).
I did spend several minutes scanning Cash Box & Billboard archives. What I found:
This was first issued February 1972 with catalog # KS-3660, which is stated on the ad announcement for the album in Cash Box Feb 12,1972 and on the Billboard Top 200 album charts starting Feb 26, through the week of July 22. This cat. # is seen on both the violet/orange/red label and red label pressings (no black label pressings apparently).
On the week of July 29, the album was listed with new catalog # of KRS-5560 until its last week on the album charts, Sept 9 issue.
So, July 1972 is the month the cat # was changed. This new cat # was issued on both the violet/orange/red label and black label simulteneously.

Bomber501 8th Jul 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumSonny And Cher - All I Ever Need Is You (1972) | This one is confusing. This was also issued as KRS-5560 on the older black Kapp label. The Billboard and Cash Box reviews both list it as KS-3660, but some of the violet/red labels are also KRS-5560. Which one is first?
Bomber501 2nd Jun 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumJethro Tull - Thick As A Brick (1972) | Were 1st pressings on the green label?
Bomber501 21st Mar 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Rose And His Orchestra - David Rose Plays "The Stripper" And Other Fun Songs For The Family (1962) | There are also differences with the back cover. One with a bio & sketch of David Rose as seen here, and one with 5 photos of model Betty Blair. There are different front & back combos of these 4 different panels. Based on the photo used in the Cash Box Review (Jun 16 '62) they show the pink cover with no track titles on the front so I'm assuming that's the first one. Any idea when the others appeared?
Bomber501 30th Oct 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Grateful Dead - Aoxomoxoa (1969) | Just a clarification of sorts, I suppose: I have an earlier Terre Haute pressing on the Seven Arts label with the RE1 in the matrix and it's definintely the original mix. So while "Most remixed copies carry "RE 1" somewhere on the label" may be true, not all RE1s are the re-mix.
Bomber501 18th Oct 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumZZ Top - Eliminator (1983) | I <think> the earlier pressings have the full version of Legs, plus some pressings have a locked groove at the end of side 2 (not sure if this is just earlier pressings). WB changed to the 'shadows' logo label just a few weeks after release. Later pressings the back cover completely changed to a photo of the band posing around the red Ford Coupe.
Bomber501 18th Oct 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumKim Wilde - Kim Wilde (1982) | Just a side note: The labels posted by Bgray1 is a later pressing when Specialty and Allied pressed Capitol's vinyl (1986 and later) with the perimeter print around almost all of the label. (By the looks of the pressing ring, this could be a Columbia contract pressing.)
Bomber501 18th Aug 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Meet The Beatles! (1988) | Where did the July 28 date come from?
Bomber501 14th Dec 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThree Dog Night - Golden Biscuits (1971) | All copies of this were issued in the fold-out jacket, correct? I'm seeing posts on other sites showing just the front with the artist/title and the inside gatefold with the track titles.
Bomber501 8th Nov 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumBoston - Boston (1976) | Side note: CBS pressings with the "fall-out shelter" triangle began appearing approx. late 1984.
Bomber501 14th Oct 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumNick Lowe - Labour Of Lust (1979) | Originally issued with JC prefix. Changed to PC prefix early-mid 80s when added to Columbia's Nice Price budget series.
