Buzzard 7th Mar 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumJimi Hendrix - Jimi Hendrix (1976) | I bought it in 1975. Other LPs in this series included releases featuring Eric Burdon, Fairport Convention and Julie Driscoll with Brian Auger & The Trinity- all of which were also released and bought by me in 1975. So there it is- it is neither 73 nor 76, but 1975!.

Buzzard 6th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid Bowie - Pin Ups (1983) | Both this and Lodger were re-issued with black RCA labels and RCALP catalogue prefixes in October 1981 (also Young Americans and Station To Station) but were quickly replaced by the green-label RCA International versions. They (the RCALP versions) are listed and dated in the The Essential Guide to Rock Records compiled by Fred Dellar and Barry Lazell (Omnibus Press, 1983), so the RCALP series had to have been available late 1981-early 1982, i.e. prior to the publication of the book. All of which means that the green label version is a re-issue of a re-issue!

Buzzard 14th Jul 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Gutbucket (1969) | This album contains a splendid alternate version of Capt. Beefheart's Gimme Dat Harp Boy, which is clearly not the same as the album track of the same name from 'Strictly Personal'. I have heard it said that Gimme Dat Harp Boy was being considered for release as a single in 1969 but was cancelled. If so, is this the cancelled single version? Anyone?

Buzzard 18th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Donovan's Greatest Hits (1969) | Further to these notes, I'd like to know more about who or what prevented Pye from releasing the 3 singles in the UK, as mentioned by Ade Macrow. Were the Pye people served injunctions? Also, please note that this album marks the first appearance of the 'extended' version (i.e. not the single) of 'Sunshine Superman'. Oh, & I too have a UK mono copy in first pressing.
