Focus B 29th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - The Who Sell Out (1967) | Do original copies of the stereo album have the locked groove at the end of Side 2?
Focus B 24th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Bambi Slam - The Bambi Slam (1988) | The position of the sticker on the front varies between copies.
On mine it's to the top left of the CND symbol.
Focus B 16th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Mamas And The Papas - 20 Golden Hits (1974) | Uploaded front and rear sleeve. Inner gatefold identical to the Probe release of the same compilation already submitted.
Focus B 14th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - The Best Of The Beach Boys (1966) | Remarkably, this mono version was still in production with later lime green labels.

Focus B 18th Feb 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumWe Are Going To Eat You - Everywhen (1990) | Thanks
Focus B 16th Feb 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumWe Are Going To Eat You - Everywhen (1990) | Uploaded this copy before realising the album has already been posted under the incorrect Everywhen artist credit.
Perhaps moderators could merge the two please?
Focus B 15th Feb 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumWe Are Going To Eat You - Everywhen (1990) | Actually, the group are We Are Going To Eat You. The album is called Everywhen.
Focus B 13th Jan 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumRich Kids - Ghosts Of Princes In Towers (1978) | Just picked up what appears to be an original issue, but lacking its inner sleeve.
However, the standard paper white inner is typical of EMI releases at the time.
Of course, someone could have easily substituted it over the years, or perhaps the inner was limited to the first few thousand copies?
Focus B 14th Dec 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues With The London Festival Orchestra - Days Of Future Passed (1967) | Wordnwot mentions a very early issue without the artist credit. It also omits "Time To Get Away" on the label with the entire album credited to Redwave-Knight. All tracks published by Essex music. This was available in both mono and stereo with images on Discogs.
Trying to secure such an early copy has so far been impossible. I wonder if it was withdrawn very quickly in view of the incorrect publishing details for the Mike Pinder and Justin Hayward compositions. Were they actually sold to the public?

Focus B 3rd Oct 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Rolling Stones - Aftermath (1966) | Seen an upload of an earlier copy with an amusing misprint on the sleeve notes.
"In December of 1694"! See if I can get the owner to upload it.
Focus B 26th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Please Please Me (1963) | Uploaded the ZT coded Dick James Music label, with kind permission from the owner.
Focus B 26th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Please Please Me (1963) | I was fascinated to see an upload on FB of a Dick James gold label copy with the ZT stamp in the middle! This was used in 1962 before the album was recorded.
Interesting that the Northern Songs version uploaded on Discogs has the correct MT code used from January to the end of June 1963.
I've asked the owner to upload his ZT copy here.
Focus B 25th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Hollies - Confessions Of The Mind (1978) | This is a 1978 re-issue.
Focus B 17th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Box Tops - Super Hits (1970) | Been debating with someone who believes this album came out in 1970, despite everything suggesting early 1969, especially as a mono version was available.
The G&L date on the bottom right does give the date as 7002, which suggests February 1970!
Surely, mono copies and any with the Sold In UK statement wouldn't have been pressed in 1970, unless the release was postponed for some reason?

Focus B 9th Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumDavid McCallum - Music (1966) | Sleeve and label images uploaded.
Focus B 3rd Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumRolling Stones - Steel Wheels (1989) | Uploaded part of the Demo issue. What a remarkably good album this is. B2 and B6 feature Keith Richards on lead vocals.
Focus B 2nd Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Rolling Stones - Aftermath (1966) | Another label variation uploaded.
Focus B 1st Aug 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Immediate Lets You In (1969) | Uploaded label variations. Surprisingly, my copy isn't the usual EMI cut but with either a Pye or Orlake style matrixes.
Focus B 19th Jul 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord (1968) | Harvey- Both '60s Deram Cat Stevens albums don't have the album titles on the labels.
Focus B 19th Jul 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones (1964) | My copy is XARL 6271-1A and XARL 6272-1A. The label which is the same as the one uploaded by Sladesounds lists, "I Need You Baby" on both sleeve and label
Focus B 19th Jul 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues With The London Festival Orchestra - Days Of Future Passed (1967) | Hawkmarty: The opposite to mine which is ZAL 8078-1W and ZAL 8079-2W!
Focus B 19th Jul 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord (1968) | Picked up a nice '60s stereo copy. Matrix 1W both sides. Same labels as those uploaded by Bodston with the upside down matrix numbers and J/T codes. In all these years I've yet to listen to the album closely in stereo.
UPDATE- Having had the mono issue for years which, as with all four Mono Moodies albums, are fold downs, I'm really enjoying it in stereo. Certainly more atmospheric, much of it lost with the mono fold down.
Focus B 28th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Kinks - Golden Hour Of The Kinks (1971) | Improved gold labels uploaded.
Focus B 28th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumManfred Mann's Earth Band - The Roaring Silence (1976) | Not the expected EMI cut and pressing. Handwritten matrix numbers with very thin vinyl that's typical of CBS.
Focus B 27th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album] (1968) | My copy is 0199575. Would be nice to have a database as to which copies survive. One thing I've never known is, are the mono and stereo editions numbered seperately or not, eg: will a stereo 0000001 exist or not?
I'm playing my own copy as I write this. Always feeling sorry for records in poor condition I've managed to get it playable, although there was nothing I could do with the deep scratch during, Long Long Long. At least the rest of the double set is now playable, which wasn't the case before. The poster survives yet the photos do not. All matrix numbers end with -1.
I've never regarded this double set particulary highly to tell you the truth. Listening to it in mono has given me a fresh outlook. It's so much better, even if I miss the Helter Skelter reprise with the comment, "I've Got Blisters On My Fingers" that's missing on the mono!

Focus B 19th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues With The London Festival Orchestra - Days Of Future Passed (1967) | Hawkmarty- Would be interesting to hear what the matrix numbers are on your own earlier copy.
Focus B 19th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumKraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express (1977) | Images show a later issue, probably from the '80s. The original release had pink labels with Capitol in lower case at the bottom.
Focus B 16th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumOriginal Cast Recording - Oliver In The Overworld (1971) | As well as adding the lyric sheet insert I've included better scans of the cover and labels. The originals can be deleted.
Focus B 16th Jun 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumOriginal Cast Recording - Oliver In The Overworld (1971) | Typo on track B2 as on the label. Correct spelling on the album cover.
Mod Edit: Fixed.
