Focus B 11th Jul 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumUnit 4 + 2 - Unit 4+2 (1969) | Front cover shows the band on the Southern Television boat The Southerner.
Focus B 9th Jul 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumSonny And Cher - Look At Us (1965) | I was surprised to see a later Polydor marketed issue of this album at a market stall the other day, sold as, "Original". Not quite!
Used to have this one, but glad to pass it on as I found it embarrassingly bad. I love the original 45 of I Got You Babe, but even on this mono issue it's clearly the inferior stereo version compressed into mono.
Focus B 6th Jul 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Everly Brothers - In Our Image (1966) | Glitter And Gold, a psych classic!
Focus B 26th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTelevision - Marquee Moon (1977) | My own copy, purchased in 1977 has these quotation marks. Sleeve uploaded which is the same copy as of the rear and labels I previously uploaded.
I understand the quotation marks are unique to the 1st press UK release.
Focus B 22nd Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTelevision - Marquee Moon (1977) | Just learned that the first UK issue has quotation marks around, "Marquee Moon" on the front cover.
Focus B 16th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumPropaganda - Propaganda's Secret Wish (1985) | Incidentally the out of focus image at the top of Inner Sleeve 2 is how it appears and not down to careless scanning!
Focus B 15th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl Album[no artist listed] - Junior Hits (1970) | No Shame to admit to owning a copy. My dad bought a copy for me when I was 5 years old.
That's long lost, but pleased to find another for sentimental reasons more than anything.
They are remarkably good interpretations of the originals it must be said. I'm sure the persons behind it enjoyed making it as much as we did listening to it as children.
Appeared to remain on catalogue for sometime. I've seen copies with the later oval MFP logo on the front.
Focus B 15th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - 20 Power Hits (1973) | Unfortunately, some of the tracks are badly edited versions, often starting abruptly.
This includes tracks A7 and B5.
This is mentioned on the rear of the sleeve however, "To ensure maximum quality".
I also have this on 8-track which has the same edited versions.
Focus B 10th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumÉdith Piaf - Edith Piaf (1968) | Always thought MFP used blue for mono and red for stereo.
You learn something new every day!
Focus B 8th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumLabi Siffre - Labi Siffre (1970) | The vinyl of this copy is the translucent red type as frequently encountered on PYE records in the '70s.
This is the only copy I've seen of this album.
Focus B 8th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Troggs - Contrasts (1973) | Wouldn't DJSL.009 be a different release seeing it's on the main DJM label and presumably "stereo"?
Focus B 6th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVanity Fare - Coming Home | Forgot to add this was produced by Roger Easterby and Des Champ for Gentry Records.
Focus B 6th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVanity Fare - Hitchin' A Ride (1975) | This is a direct re-issue of the earlier Coming Home album on DJM Silverline DJSL 001, issued circa 1971.
Focus B 6th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJethro Tull - Stand Up (1969) | Thanks Hawkmarty. I found it in the 2 o'clock posistion on my copy, though it's not easy to read.
I think this will be the + B2 version?
Image uploaded.
Focus B 5th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJethro Tull - Stand Up (1969) | Looking at my Pink/White "i" copy the A side matrix is ILPS+9103+A2.
However, Side 2 has barely any run off groove with no signs of any Matrix number stamping, nor is it handwritten.
Is this true of other copies?
The 3U clearly indicates an EMI/Gramophone Company pressing.
Focus B 5th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Bee Gees - The Very Best Of The Bee Gees (1990) | Interesting: Saved By The Bell was a solo release by Robin Gibb when he briefly left the band.
He was also the sole composer, according to the original 45 release.
Run To Me was a full band composistion.
Focus B 5th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Hollies - 20 Golden Greats (1978) | Uploaded inner sleeve that came with my 1978 issue. It's identical on both sides, the other side without G&L, Available On Tape and EMTV11(I).
Interesting to note the 1978 re-issues with new sleeves, the original sleeves forSing Dylan and Evolution were retained.
Focus B 31st May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumEric Burdon And The Animals - The Twain Shall Meet (1968) | Front and rear sleeve images uploaded.
Focus B 27th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumRoger Miller - The 3rd Time Around (1968) | Sleeve and labels uploaded.
Focus B 22nd May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The World Of Hits (1969) | Gloria backed Baby Please Don't Go, which was a hit single.
I don't know if Gloria was the preferred option that had a greater impact and airplay at the time of release, like how Sandie Shaw's Girl Don't Come was for example in preference to that A-side.
Focus B 20th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTalk Talk - It's My Life (1984) | Sleeve and label images uploaded.
Focus B 20th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTalk Talk - Spirit Of Eden (1988) | Uploaded rest of sleeve and labels. Interesting to note the matrix number originally gave the catalogue number PCS 7313 crossed out and replaced by PCSD 105.
Focus B 19th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumPicadilly Line - The Huge World Of Emily Small (1967) | Rear of sleeve and labels uploaded. Catalogue number is BPG 63129 on the labels.
Focus B 17th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumWire - 154 (1979) | Test pressings on SHVL 819 do exist after all.
Interesting to learn the Australian issue has that catalogue number.

Focus B 16th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Immediate Lets You In (1969) | Don't know if anyone else noticed how Afterglow suddenly switches to mono at the end?
Focus B 13th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDave Grusin - Candy (1969) | Rear of sleeve and labels uploaded. Front sleeve identical to the stereo issue already uploaded.
Focus B 13th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBlodwyn Pig - Ahead Rings Out (1969) | Have a first issue of this with Side 1 labels on both sides.
Focus B 13th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Settlers - The Settlers (1967) | Perhaps they hold the record for releases on various different labels in such a short time.
Decca, Pye, Columbia and now Island!
Focus B 3rd May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDave Brubeck - Dave Brubeck's Greatest Hits (1966) | Labels and inner sleeve uploaded. I know the latter company inner sleeves are usually not uploaded, but thought this one was too good to ignore.
Focus B 1st May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Yardbirds - Hits And More (1989) | This is what Starline's Remember The Yardbirds should have been. An excellent compilation of their earlier material. In original and proper mono too,
