Kate Bush - Aerial (2005)
A wonderful comeback double(!)album after an abcense by Kate in the musicindustry for 12 years. It is recorded in a more acoustic based productionstyle. New to what I was used to by Kate Bush. At the same time it could be a bit vulnerable for becoming somewhat boring after several listens. Nevertheless it contains some awesome tracks that remain timeless. I am very impressed with "King Of The Mountain", the daring "Pi", "A Coral Room", "Sunset", "Nocturn" and the titletrack and albumcloser "Aerial".
Vinyl 1, "A Sea Of Honey" doesn't sound mint. There's too much noise coming from the vinyl itself.
Vinyl 2, "A Sky Of Honey" on the other hand sounds perfect, even after nearly twenty years. I must say it isn't played all the time, because I purchased the CD version as well when released in 2005.

It is known Kate censored this album herself by replacing two contributions by Rolf Harris, (a in a later moment in time accused and convicted childabuser) with newly recorded sections, done by her son Albert. It is obvious they used live recorded material from the "Before The Dawn" concerts (London, 2014). Of course she had no choice but to do so. Besides, the album really was stained by the appearrance of R.H.. It is not a nice experience hearing this man when you know his background. It obviously does take the mind away from the music as it was intended.
Having deep respect for her decision, I consider it a to be a historical fact, which does not have to be erased from history altogether. We don't ignore and deny other awful historical facts as well... I am glad to own both the original and censored versions. I rated both the tracks featuring Rolf Harris with 1. The censored versions I would rate resp. 7 and 8.

"A Sky Of Honey" featured as a whole section in the "Before The Dawn" concerts, of which a marvellous release appeared in 2016. The music really came to life and with that surpassed the very high quality of the studio recordings. "King Of The Mountain" is also featured on this live registration and 'blows' your mind away.
"Before The Dawn" also contained the integral, magical, even extended second half of the "Hounds Of Love" album called "The Ninth Wave". A true document saved for the future.
