jpvinylcdsearch 20th Jan 2024		Vinyl Album The Androids [UK] - Disco Dream And The Androids (1979)	A studio “project” realized by Adrian Wagner, descendant of German composer Richard Wagner, whose British firm Electronic Dream Plant manufactured synthesizers. He intended it to be “a spoof concept space fantasy album” that became a cult classic. It’s also, according to Wagner, the first time a purely computer-generated “phonetic voice” was used on an album. Credits: Rengow (phonetic anagram for Wagner) a 491A Series Type MAP android and Nadria (anagram for Adrian) a faulty Type ECY 271 android both pseudonyms for Adrian Wagner along with, uncredited, Robert Calvert (Hawkwind) - Performers using newly invented Wasp Moog, Roland 700 synthesizer and other electronics Doréme (Karen Friedman), Fasöla (Dari Lalou) and Latèdo (Casey Synge,) as 491A Series Type MAP androids (actually backup vocal trio The Thunderthighs) - Backing Vocals
