LaurenceD SUBS 17th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTommy Edwards - It's All In The Game (1958) | Added some (tattered) cover scans and sharper label scans; as noted, the cover looks very much like that of the U.S. release
LaurenceD SUBS 15th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumLes Baxter - Moog Rock (1970) | Many of the track titles on the front cover differ somewhat from those on the back cover and labels; I have entered the ones from the labels.
LaurenceD SUBS 9th May 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Platters - Remember When (1959) | I added scans from my stereo copy; A couple of things I should mention:
- to clarify the notes, both the mono and stereo LPs were issued with the earlier and later cover designs (mine being of the later).
- the previously posted front cover image (499754) is from the Netherlands release (135 106 MCY). I have hidden it for now; when we have an NL entry for it we can move it over.
- the track order for the stereo LP differs slightly from that of the mono; tracks A5 & A6 are swapped. The label reflects that change in order, but the cover does not, so I have changed the track order as per the label. As far as I can determine, this is the case with all stereo releases.

LaurenceD SUBS 7th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBuffalo Bob Smith And Howdy Doody - Be A Ventriloquist | A bit of info about doll manufacturer Eugene Goldberger here.
Apparently the lessons are narrated by someone named Larry Marks.
LaurenceD SUBS 7th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTyler King And The Twisteens - Twistin' Time (1961) | A rather worn cover; better scans are welcomed. Consensus for a release date seems to be 1961, but I'm not positive.
The tracks on this LP can be found on a wide variety of compilations, with varying performer credits; for instance see this French EP.
LaurenceD SUBS 6th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumMickey Katz And His Orchestra - Katz Puts On The Dog (1958) | Added scans, sorry about the pencil tracing around the dog on the back. At least they didn't use crayons...
Title variations on cover:
- A5: Pesach In Portugal
- B1: Feet Up, Pat Him On The Pippick
LaurenceD SUBS 22nd Mar 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJerry Goldsmith - A Patch Of Blue (1965) | Added scans for cover back and labels; the labels state "Original Sound Tract Recording" ;-)
LaurenceD SUBS 16th Jan 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumLoyd Hadachek - Certified Purchase Plan (1957) | The disc contains instructions for sales personnel as to use of the "certified purchase plan" to aid in securing the sale of a vehicle.
I was surprised to see the Monarch delta numbers on this item.
LaurenceD SUBS 12th Jan 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBuck Owens - Buck Owens (1961) | Note that there are six banded tracks on side 2. Track B5 includes "When I Hold You", "Higher, Higher And Higher" and the interview mentioned in the liner notes.
LaurenceD SUBS 7th Jan 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumStan Ross And His Friends From The Neighborhood - My Son The Copy Cat (1963) | Added more scans, and composer credits. The track order listing of B1 & B2 differs between the cover and the label; listening reveals that the label is correct, so I have adjusted the track order for this entry.
LaurenceD SUBS 7th Jan 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Righteous Brothers - Souled Out (1967) | Hi VinylFan, I think that I have it sorted out now. The original stereo entry had no images; sometime thereafter various folks submitted images from their mono LPs. So I have:
- created a new mono entry (V-5031) here and moved the mono scans over to that one
- kept your scans here and added my cover scans as well
I cannot reassign ownership settings, so each member will have to account for their own status as far as that goes (attn: mrvica and soultwinz).

LaurenceD SUBS 21st Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumErnestine Anderson - Hot Cargo (1958) | Recorded in Stockholm, Oct 25, Nov 16,18,19, 1956
Released in Sweden as "It's Time For Ernestine", Metronome MLP 15015
Not sure, but that looks kinda like pianist Thore Swanerud on the cover.
LaurenceD SUBS 20th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young / Neil And The Shocking Pinks - Everybody's Rockin' (1983) | I just looked at the personnel list on the inner sleeve again and noticed that Larry Byrom (yes, the Steppenwolf guy) is credited... as the piano player (?!).
I'll have to go back and watch Solo Trans again and see what he's doing...
LaurenceD SUBS 5th Dec 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumNina Simone - Little Girl Blue (1959) | Added alternate label scans from my copy, which BTW has a side 1 and a side B. :-)
LaurenceD SUBS 20th Nov 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDave "Baby" Cortez - The Whistling Organ | After listening to this, I'm pretty sure that those b-side tracks do not feature Dave "Baby" Cortez. The same tracks can be found (uncredited) on various budget LP releases.
LaurenceD SUBS 20th Nov 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumRuth White - Flowers Of Evil (1969) | Apologies for the doodling on the cover.
LaurenceD SUBS 17th Nov 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Famous Standards Of Maceo Pinkard (1959) | According to the Billboard ad, this album was also available in 45 rpm and EP formats. I see some of the 45 single releases out there; I have yet to see any EP from this label.
The mono LP appears to have been issued with number 125.
LaurenceD SUBS 22nd Oct 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumHank Thompson And His Brazos Valley Boys - Songs Of The Brazos Valley (1955) | Sorry about the masking tape.
Not sure about the actual release date of the 12" version. The latest of the added tracks (A1,A2,B1,B2) would be Simple Simon from single F3188, ca. 7/55.
LaurenceD SUBS 12th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Recorded Entertainment Live At The Whiskey-A-Go-Go (1964) | Boy, it seems like a lot of labels were trying to ride the coattails of those Johnny Rivers "Whiskey-A-Go-Go" albums. While there are some great selections on this LP, I can't really recommend it because of the dubbed 'audience' noise and the unnamed announcer yelling in between each song.
Just to be clear, these are the original studio recordings. Well it does say "recorded entertainment"...
LaurenceD SUBS 2nd Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumJudy Carne, Arte Johnson And Cast Of Laugh-In - Laugh-In '69 (1969) | Added promo labels, plus a cleaner cover back. I'm looking at edlongus' copy, and it seems bizarre that the previous owner apparently attempted to expunge the "'69" from their copy.
LaurenceD SUBS 31st Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumGeorge Duning - Any Wednesday (1966) | Marilyn and Alan Bergman wrote lyrics (and music?) for the title song but the version with vocals is not included in this album. However you can hear those lyrics in the opening credits of the film: [YouTube Video]

LaurenceD SUBS 8th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumGodfrey Cambridge - Ready Or Not Here's Godfrey Cambridge (1964) | Added alternate labels. As best as I can determine, this LP was released in mono format only.
LaurenceD SUBS 8th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumBrenda Lee - 10 Golden Years (1966) | Added cover and label scans from the gatefold version, with respect to 55bluesman.
LaurenceD SUBS 4th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumJane Birkin, Serge Gainsbourg - Je T'Aime (1970) | Added cover scan with warning sticker on shrink wrap. The sticker is actually a day-glo orange but my scanner is unable to process that color.
LaurenceD SUBS 16th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumPope Paul VI - First Visit To The Americas (1965) | I sure wasn't aware of it, nor had I heard of Steven Manning and his Manning Organization. Well I suppose that these recordings were in the public domain, so why not...
