LaurenceD SUBS 8th Feb 2023		Vinyl Album Andre Girard - Le Voyage En Ballon (1962)	This film was released in the USA retitled as "Stowaway in the Sky" with added narration by Jack Lemmon. This LP contains the original music without the narration.
LaurenceD SUBS 3rd Feb 2023		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Rhythm Of Resistance (1984)	I entered this as Canadian because of the "Distributed in Canada" info on the back of the sleeve, but ... so far, every example of this LP that I have seen online has that same cover. So it may be the case that this album was sold with the same cover for the USA as well as Canada. I don't know if Shanachie actually did produce separate items specifically for sales in Canada.

LaurenceD SUBS 27th Jan 2023		Vinyl Album Skeeter Davis - The End Of The World (1963)	Added labels from an earlier pressing. On that copy, track B2 is erroneously listed as "(I Want To Go) Where Nobody Knows Me", composed by Dick Flood - a different song that was recorded by George Hamilton IV around 1962. The 1968 label has the correct title and composers for the song on this LP.
LaurenceD SUBS 20th Jan 2023		Vinyl Album Louis Prima With Gia Maione, Sam Butera And The Witnesses - Prima Show In The Casbar (1963)	When my parents moved to the Las Vegas area around 1983, they bought a house a mile or two from the Louis Prima estate at 279 E. Warm Springs Road. The estate looked pretty run-down by then, and I think that there were squatters occupying the property. That second photo at the link, with the dilapidated sign, shows how it looked at that time.

(The back cover slick is actually the same for both) BTW that photo on the cover back is reversed... Buddy played right-handed.

Everly I see that "T For Texas" is usually credited to Jimmie Rodgers and "Shady Grove" is generally considered traditional.

I have no idea who these Ringers are... I suspect that they're some nameless session musicians.

LaurenceD SUBS 28th Dec 2022		Vinyl Album Les McCann - Much Les (1969)	The 3:31 timing (on the cover) for track A1 is a bit off the mark; I didn't time it precisely, but 8:31 is probably more like it.
LaurenceD SUBS 27th Dec 2022		Vinyl Album Aretha Franklin - Amazing Grace (1972)	My copy of this has a manufacturing error: sides 3 and 4 both play the side 4 tracks. The weird thing is, the matrix numbers on the labels and runouts match up correctly; and, the grooves and track separations for those sides are cut differently. So it appears that a mistake may have occurred during the mastering process. The labels are identical to leonard's { 1593011 - 1593015 }.

LaurenceD SUBS 13th Dec 2022		Vinyl Album Urbie Green - Twenty-One Trombones (1968)	The notes state that Tommy Newsom adapted "The Green Bee" from "The Flight Of The Bumble Bee", intended as a possible theme for the Green Hornet TV series. However a different tune written by Billy May was chosen (and recorded by Al Hirt).

Some other pressings credit Marvin Phillips, but that references a different song with that title released by Marvin and Johnny.

LaurenceD SUBS 21st Nov 2022		Vinyl Album The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Music From "West Side Story" And Other Works (1960)	This entry is for the re-titled release with the same cat no., but with a new cover; the original title, "Bernstein Plays Brubeck Plays Bernstein", is still present on the labels. I entered the date (Aug 1960) from the original release. If we have a separate entry for that earlier one, which is not present as yet, maybe we should adjust this date. It might be from around 1962.
