Reminds me of home- I was always intrigued because it's obviously a cover of a cloudy beach day, but I could relate because I had been to beaches on cloudy days. Not so great but hey, you took what you could get hehehe

PaythePiper SUBS 9th Jun 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumEmerson, Lake And Palmer - Tarkus (1971) | Amazingly Powerful album, it's a true picker upper. It's great just to play it as a background as you do stuff around, it will get you jumping. It is also a great Trip album . You just sit and go into a trans. Very few albums have the feel this one brings. The instrumental arrangement is simply phenominal.

PaythePiper SUBS 24th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Kinks - The Kinks Greatest Hits! (1966) | Can't go wrong with this album, gives perfect overall look at Kinks Mania, and one of their better covers. All around great album. Came out in Summer of 66, didn't realize how fast this greatest hits came around considering they had hit the mainstream only a couple years back. Reprise had an idea how these pop groups came zooming in and out fast. By 67 so much of the music was turning around more experimental. This was at the height of mid 60's rock - Kinks Kingdom of sorts. I was very little when these guys were the group to listen to but I remember that they played All Day And All Of The Night like crazy on the US East Coast radio, know nothing about West Coast.

PaythePiper SUBS 13th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumCarpenters - Ticket To Ride (1970) | This was a re release of sorts of their Offering Album ( same song sequence) which was their first album, the Offering Album didn't sell very well so I guess they decided to revamp the cover with them on a sailboat picture which was taken at Lake Tahoe Nevada, beautiful locale, and I'm not sure if this sold well but better then the first time around anyway. Like most of their albums they were very well produced and arranged specially so the songs gel onto each other seamlessly.

PaythePiper SUBS 11th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Supremes - The Supremes Sing Holland-Dozier-Holland (1967) | Back cover: This has always been a nice pic of the girls with HDH composers, what a team!!!! Check out Flo trying to sing the note and Diana too and Mary just all smiles in the back, it's just great.

PaythePiper SUBS 9th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Superstars Of The 70's (1973) | One of the best compilations of songs that came out in 72/73 whether it was accurate listings or not. Folks who bought this at Woolworth's were not concerned with timeline accuracy. These were different simpler times. This was a great album to get an overall feel of what was out musically at the time, a time when music and what came out was still manageable and people could get an idea and enjoy, opposed to the masses of stuff ( mostly misguided technical noise) that come out now and no specific anything of substance that one can hold on to for pop music.
