sladesounds 9th Feb 2023		Vinyl Album Bob James - Rameau (1984)	Review Not the normal jazz album you may expect from the jazz keyboard player Bob James. This one is an electronic rendition of the music of the French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. I gather that this was originally recorded to give as Christmas gifts to his friends but obviously it made it to a general release. IMHO this is a good listen if you enjoy Tomita, Wendy Carlos or the like. 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?

I quote from the web: With her lovely face and exceptionally toned, shapely and voluptuous 39C-23-37 figure, hypnotically sensual presence and large natural breasts, Diane was a popular pin-up girl of the 1950s and 1960s, doing pictorials for and/or gracing the covers of such men's magazines as "Frolic," "Escapade," "Adam," "Beau," "Jem," "Tiger," "Modern Sunbathing," "Mermaid," "Monsieur," "Fling," "American Nudist," "Rogue," "Nugget," and "Esquire."
sladesounds 7th Dec 2021		Vinyl Album Cat Stevens - Teaser And The Firecat (1971)	From songfacts: Stevens got the lyrics from a hymn book he found at a bookstore while looking for (public domain) song ideas. It was a children's hymn by Eleanor Farjeon, who also wrote a lot of children's poetry. Stevens explained on The Chris Isaak Hour: "I accidentally fell upon the song when I was going through a slightly dry period and I needed another song or two for Teaser And The Firecat. I came across this hymn book, found this one song, and thought, This is good. I put the chords to it and then it started becoming associated with me." Children in England, where Stevens grew up and attended church, could have heard Farjeon's hymn in primary school. Scottish children sang the old Gaelic hymn, "Child in a manger, Infant of Mary" to this tune. This hymn, which is based on a melody called "Bunessan" (named for a small island town in Scotland), predated "Morning" and was written in Gaelic by Mary MacDonald before being translated into English. For Scottish children it was a Christmas hymn. Rick Wakeman, who was a session musician at the time, played the piano on this track, marking the first time he appeared on a hit single. Unlike the UK version of this album Amazing Grace and Henry are pressed as separate tracks on the album. The cover is a glossy reprint of the UK sleeve discretely marked "Made In Italy".

sladesounds 26th Aug 2020		Vinyl Album Various Artists - The Guitar Album (1972)	I have registered this as "Israel" based on the sleeve printer (Litratone- Haifa). Not 100% sure as the sleeve is not a gatefold as the majority of releases on Discogs with this design. Also on that site the Israel release has a different cover. It also threw me with the german labels. Both discs have "lit" stamped in the dead wax (Litratone?) and no other information. If you have any better idea on country of release please let me know. For the record it was purchased (for 50p) a year or two ago in a charity shop in Newbury UK.
