ReviewOk a Hank Williams album, demo copy as well, for £2.00, a bargain I hear you say... but what we have here is a terrible record. Someone decided to take some classic cuts of Hank and add strings and backing singers thus giving birth to an album that sounds so wrong and terrible.
Maybe if Hank would have be alive in 1967 he might have gone the strings and backing singer route but I'm sure he would have done it more stylishly.
Country I can take or leave but something about the original cuts that Hank made just sound so good that they have to me become ageless and I take great delight in playing them, think Your Cheatin' Heart or I'm A Long Gone Daddy to name just two. Who ever was responsible for this album got it so wrong and was just trying to milk more revenue from the back catalogue.
Thankfully there are no examples of tracks from this album on youtube I can use to show you.
