spreadjoy 8th Jan 2016		Vinyl Album Pete Fountain - Salutes The Great Clarinetists (1960)	Review The only regret I have about this record is that it is not a double. Any lover of swing will lose their mind listening to this superb recording of Pete's. In the finest Decca/Coral Stereo recordings of the early 1960's, this is spectacular. Released in the US by CHALMAC, New York. It is available at present on Sunbeam CD. I have not been able to view the original US release
spreadjoy 15th Aug 2014		Vinyl Album Chubby Checker - With Sy Oliver And His Orchestra (1964)	For a Pop Star this is an outstanding album. Chubby Checker with one of Swing's great musicians.The Sy Oliver Story. Some fine songs from Hoagy Carmichael Hoagy Carmichael Story. Chubby also sings the African American Classic That Old Time Religion - (title here "It's Got Enough For Me", the Peggy Lee classic "Fever". Re-recorded here the B Side To Let's Twist Again, Everything's Gonna Be Alright. This song was also re-released on the B Side of one of the Loddy Lo singles (2 Releases other had Hooka Tooka B Side). An extremely fine album. Sadly my copy is MONO, I have never seen a STEREO copy for sale.
