Biography - Animal

Animal Records was founded in 1982 by Blondie guitarist Chris Stein, who produced many of the label's releases, and distributed by Blondie's label Chrysalis. Animal's distinguished roster included Iggy Pop, the Gun Club, Walter Steding, and James White and the Blacks, among others. Unfortunately, Stein was forced to deactivate the label in 1984 during his life-threatening battle with the skin disease pemphigus.
