Biography - Blarney Castle    USA

A label created in order to reissue the Avoca recordings which were most appropriate for the Irish community in New York, who wanted to listen to traditional music from back home. With the name of the Blarney Castle - the most Irish of themes and where the Blarney Stone is found, it was guaranteed to hit the right note with the first and second generation ex-pat Irish. "I belong to Glasgow" was the exception to the Irish rule, but as everyone knows, there has been so much cross-fertilisation between the two countries, that may Irish people have Scottish relatives and many Scottish people have Irish names. Harry Lauder himself, sang both Irish and Scottish songs.
