Biography - Liberty    Argentina

After signing with the musical organization EMI for distribution in UK, France and many more countries Liberty Records was introduced in Argentina in the year of 1962 under Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A.I.C. managements in the country. Many records, as LPs, EPs, and singles were released in those years, with a slight success with artists such as Gary Lewis and The Playboys and many more, as Sandy Nelson or Cher
Liberty records distributed recordings of its label and from other sub-labels of the Liberty Records Inc. such as Imperial, Dolton and more.
In 1968, Liberty Records had a deal of promotion and distribution with EMI suppliers (Sud America) S.A.C. e I., an Argentinian Record company. Between those years, Transamerica bought Liberty Records Inc, closing many labels of the company in the 70s. Between 1971 or 1972 Liberty Label disappear, just to be replaced with United Artists Records, which signed with EMI suppliers (Sud America) S.A.C. e I. and later on with EMI-Odeon S.A.I.C.
The Liberty Label had a comeback in the 80s with some artists or reissues of records released in previous years.
