This label was the brainchild of William "Billy" McBurney, who had the idea of recording Irish Traditional Music of both sides of the divide in Belfast. He was perfectly happy releasing Orange March albums, while at the same time releasing both traditional Irish music and Rebel and Republican music. Numerous sub-labels sprang up from Outlet such as Homespun, Ulster, ARA and Derry.
The label itself is divided into several different series
The 7000 Series
The OAS "Archive" Series
The OLP or SOLP Series if it was stereo
The BOL or SBOL Series if it was stereo
The TOL or STOL Series if it was stereo
and the 45rpm 7" OUT series
