| | I think adding Europe to 45Cat now, when we have so many records on there, would be a nightmare. With Worlds, we had it almost from the beginning so not a problem.
EDIT: ...although you are quite correct of course. |

| | Somehow composing my comment took longer than your acting on the database.....
I recall asking about the Europe flag on 45cat recently, but cannot remember where. It is certainly missing, as from the mid 80s at the latest most stuff of more than fleeting local interest were pan-European releases, at least for the majors. And the Independents followed suit (but for most of them one could at least stick to a "country as per adress" policy) |

| | Changed to Europe.
Still not convinced though! :-)
Note we don't have Europe on 45Cat of course and I am sure the single was UK only anyway. |

| | My vote is "Europe", because nothing would suggest "initially UK only". Pinnacle is a distributor, Musidisc is a distributor (and label), one for the UK, the other for France and elsewhere.
And I would apply this solution to the linked single (and similar ones will be found, I guess) on 45cat also, not the other way round.
As I do not own and know this record, but found it to be the groups debut, it seems higly likely that at the time they went around the UK labels without success or higher ambitions than the "business" would support (take into consideration that their first singles were on their manager's label/self released).

| | Okay... so do we think "Europe" would be best then?
EDIT: Actually just thinking, even if initial pressings were only sold in the UK, I guess later pressings would have been available more widely?
EDIT 2: We might also consider the comments here. |

| | I'd agree for UK market only if there were a UK label adress. As long as it is only UK distribution, then it is "Europe" here, because Musidisc being a distributor themselves, and having their own price/distribution code as part of the artwork, were the ones who released this disc, and distributed it through their own network, which would have been France, obviously, and the usual sources for them elsewhere in Europe. I'd guess as Pinnacle is printed on the back, they guaranteed a certain amount of units for UK distribution, or parted with some advance money for this UK group. But the label, "Musidisc", is French, not UK. |

| | Those bottom two lines are ℗&© Musidisc S.A. and Distributed in the UK by Pinnacle Records.
I'd go with made in France for the UK market. |

| | In this case I would vote for "French", label and distributor highly suggest this. What I can see on the back upper right is all "French", Musidisc distribution codes etc. A pity one cannot read the bottom two lines on the back, if there were given an address, all might be solved. Unless Pinnacle are mentioned there, they would have it distributed as import.
The scenario of "Made in France for UK" as we have with so many independents from the early 80s would not apply here, as I believe "Musidisc" as a label is French. But let's wait for the address first. |

| | I wouldn't be all that confident that this was even sold outside of the UK, I mean it was their first album and they were nobody when this came out. It was only Levelling The Land that brought them success on a larger scale.
I could do some digging later, perhaps have a trawl around some Levellers forums and so on and see if I can find out more about this.
I'd like to satisfy my own curiosity if nothing else! |

| | It doesn't feel quite right jumping to UK. I'd agree that it was a UK release but it just feels wrong.
How about the European compromise? |

| | Bod, this is a UK release even though it looks trés Francais! See the World Freak Show 7" for more Anglo-French kerfuffle. It was made in France but distro'ed in the UK. I've changed it; hope this is okay.
Still a fantastic album, though I've currently only got it on CD (which also pretends to be French, but isn't).
