 And so it should, as it is clearly marked as "Re-release Originally released in 1965 as PYE NPL 18112". Admittedly that was never released with that # in Germany, as in 1965 The Kinks were on Vogue, who released PYE in Germany until closure in 1971, and in about 1979 someone at Ariola must have realized that PYE was amongst catalogue acquired during the past years. In the wake of 78/79s Powerpop/Mod Revival/ Quadrophenia Movie and The Kinks' new found chart success on Arista all of a sudden the Kinks' back catalogue was available as 'merican Reprise cut-outs, followed by Ariola's PYE re-releases, the RCA albums were nearly all available as cut-price imports in the sales bins.
