POLYGRAM RECORDS (NZ) LTD release
MGM label - "PYRAMID" Series

Following its 1970 takeover of the MGM label and subsequent reorganization of the Polydor group of companies, Philips Records (NZ) Ltd formed part of the PolyGram company in New Zealand. MGM product was then issued and marketed by PolyGram for a short period before the company underwent a further change of name to Phonogram Ltd. It remained Phonogram Ltd for a further few years before once again reverting to PolyGram. The above release stems from the initial period of PolyGram operations.

The above is the same compilation as GERMANY MGM 665105 and GERMANY METRO 2356 012 CONNIE'S GREATEST HITS, but has been given a modified title and supplied in a different sleeve to either German release. Sleeve "picture" used is pyramid shaped close-up of the two-tone shot featured in duplicate on USA LP MGM GAS 109 GREATEST GOLDEN GROOVIE GOODIES. Its release came 10 months after the locally manufactured cassette MGM 1912 015 CONNIE;S GREATEST HITS which, a copy of GERMANY MGM 912 015, features a reproduction of the sleeve to MGM 665105. Note, however, that cover and liner merely credit the above release as "CONNIE FRANCIS", and it is the spine and labels which give it its title of CONNIE'S HITS.
