 2358-058 was issued in 1972; but n.b. these (euro-)"universal" numbers weren't necessarily issued in strict - or even approximate - chronological order in any one market (save, perhaps, the netherlands...)

yr hmbl srppnt. s'spects that at the start of polydor's licence°, the highest priorities were given to a) new releases and current best-selling back catalogue°°; b) mid-selling current back-catalogue; c) reissue of non-current titles the label manager thought likely to sell well, or very well; d) reissue of non-current titles for which they thought there would be more limited, but definite demand.

° - mid-end 12/70 & '71

°° - emi mightn't've supplied polydor ltd/"euro-polydor" with the sales figures for their catalogue, but they *had* to account to mgm records, inc, who would've had no reason to keep recent figures secret from polydor - quite the reverse!

 I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's 1971.

 Yep, for so many reasons:

MGM was distributed by EMI in 1957, not Polydor;
Polydor Records Ltd. didn't exist under that name in 1957;
This MGM label design dates from the late 1960s;
This style of catalogue number didn't come into use until 1970;
This was issued early-mid 1970s.
