RogerFoster 13th Mar 2021		Added the full page advert for this that appeared in The January 1974 edition of "Black Music" (Image #2585987). The magazine would have hit the streets in December 1973.



PhilMH 8th Mar 2021		The catalogue number sequence places this is 1973 as well; 2362 028 was Rufus Thomas' DID YOU HEARD ME? (1972); 2362 029 is unknown; records 2362 030/031 were the WATTSTAX double (set no 2659 019), and 2362 032/033 were Isaac Hayes' LIVE AT THE SAHARA TAHOE (set no 2659 026). The 1970 and 1971 dates that Doccus refer to come from the original US release of this title, and equivalents in other countries, which had a different track listing.



RogerFoster 8th Mar 2021		I'm completely happy that the release date of December 1973 is correct for this. I distinctly remember buying it as a new release around that time and I was so impressed by the cover that I used a few blobs of blutac to attach it to the wall where I was living at the time. Other "artworks" to grace my room wall at the time included the cover of The Temptations "Masterpiece" LP (another 1973 release). And for those wanting evidence .... the LP entered the "Blues & Soul" LP chart at #22 in issue #126, dated 15th January 1974.



Doccus SUBS 7th Mar 2021		The year cannot be 1973... All other first issues of this album date 1970 or 1971 (Referenced at https://www.discogs.com/Various-Gold-Soul/master/767651) And also, since the UK issue of "Gold Soul vol 2" (Fillet of Soul) came out in 1972 then this must necessarily be earlier.. either 1970 or 1971.
