....boy do I remember this album, I was there, Croydon Fairfield Halls, Sunday 7 December 1969, second show, for the recording of the live show, and my girlfriend and I were seated actually on the stage (right hand side, as viewed from the auditorium), where I think the choir would sit, for classical performances. We were just a few feet away from the action, and it was crowded with musicians up there.....Rita Coolidge, what a fox......
Also present that evening on stage apart from Eric Clapton were the rest of the soon to become The Dominos, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon. Dave Mason was there, and George Harrison, and almost at the end Ringo Starr (for one song). He was right at the back, so twin drummers, one of my favourite combinations.
I was second row front at the Rainbow Theatre, London on 20-May-1974, for Steely Dans' legendary live gig, with Michael McDonald (Doobies) guesting, plus the rest of the Dan, and playing in tandem on drums with Jim Hodder, was Jeff Porcaro.
