Hi guys, I had this album too in the mid-70's, bought from the Australian Record Club, but I don't remember any problems with the sound balance, which I would surely have noticed as I listened mostly with headphones then. I'm not even sure whether I had a Polydor copy or RSO, but Discogs has a Polydor copy, also pressed by ARC/CBS like this one, but with lower matrix numbers, so maybe it was remastered at some point to correct the sound balance? (The copy here must be a 1978 or later pressing, as the company name on the label perimeters is PolyGram Records Pty. Limited). Anyway, I sold my copy sometime in the late 70's or early 80's when I went off Clapton.

mowdamowda this was given to me as a teenager in the 70's and after hearing of the legendary Clapton I was surprised at how crappy this album sounded. No-one must have checked the master on both releases because I'm sure this RSO repress did the same thing. Someone gave me another copy (the one I used for this entry) 4 years ago and I just scanned it and traded it in without listening to it at all. My memory of it was so bad I couldn't even face giving it a spin and I was always miffed by the high ratings this album seemed to have in other parts of the world. Thanks for information it all makes sense to me now.

Yes, I bought this album in Oz the day it was released and the tracks are flipped on the Aussie one.

Not only that, after about 45 seconds into 'Slunky' the balance changes radically and for the remainder of the album volume is about 25% left channel - 100% right channel. (or vice versa).

BTW, the version shown here is a later RSO pressing. The original was Polydor

I'm not sure whether the tracks A3 and B3 are really as listed or if it is just a mistake on the Australian sleeve and label. Every other release seems to have A3 as Lonesome And A Long Way From Home and B3 as Told You For The Last Time but on this one the titles are reversed.
