This album was compiled by the Polydor International Product Department as part of a "STARALBUM" series of releases. It was originally scheduled for release in January 1979 but put back six months, in all probability because of the sales being achieved by the higher-priced 2-LP set POLYDOR 2664 407 STARGALA CONNIE FRANCIS issued just three months earlier. All 10 tracks are included on the STARGALA set, which features a larger, close up (albeit inverted) of the same cover picture. A small copy of this same shot was featured on the sleeve to POLYDOR 2475 731 EINE INSEL FUR ZWEI...CONNIE FRANCIS: IHRE 20 GROSSTEN HITS.

Connie Francis albums were featured in three series: -STARALBUM -STARSTUNDEN -EDITION The above was simultaneously released on MC POLYDOR 3201 157.
