confranfan SUBS 25th Jun 2017		POLYDOR RECORDS LTD Release POLYDOR label - POLYDOR TWO FOR ONE Series The above album was simultaneously issued on cassette POLYDOR 3577 344. The above was the first Connie Francis release in the 2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1 series. Breaking the tradition of both featured albums - individually numbered 2929 070 and 2929 071 - having been formerly issued by Polydor, the set adopted a "theme" of each LP being devoted to contemporary songwriters, and marked the British debut of USA LP MGM SE CONNIE FRANCIS SINGS BACHARACH AND DAVID and Polydor release of MGM SE 4655 THE SONGS OF LES REED, previously issued at the beginning of the decade by EMI on MGM CS 8117. A further precedent was set with the use of a full-length Connie Francis picture in the gatefold spread instead of a display of other 2-FOR-1 collections. This exception was carried over to the subsequent 2-FOR-1 package outlined prior to this entry. A scan of this gatefold spread has been provided herewith. Also provided composer credit.
