Notes

AFRO ROCK was the tag stuck to the music first introduced by OSIBISA & ASSAGAI during 1970 / 71

OSIBISA: Their two tracks on this album feature the original line - up with. Whendell Richardson on guitar and Spartacus R on bass

ASSAGAI:
Dudu Pukwana: Alto Sax, Mongezi Feza: Trumpet, Louis Moholo: Drums, Fred Coker: Guitar, Vocals. Other names associated with Assagai at one time or the other were Terry Quaye (Congas), Charles Ononogbo (Bass), Bizo and Fred Fredericks (Tenor Saxes)

SIMBA was the first AFRO/ANGLO band formed solely for recording & comprised the brass & reed players of Assagai together with Tony Duhig (Guitar), Glyn Havard (Bass) & John Field (Flute & Percussion) from Vertigo's JADE WARRIOR. Beside writing 'Movin' these three musicians also wrote three songs on Assagai's "ZIMBABWE" album.

GRUTZ and CHAKA are relatively new names who show great promise given the time and opportunity to find their own niche. Names to watch for are Seth Prokop (Cornet) & Michael Woods (Bass) of Grutz and Neil Watson (Guitar) & Bob Bloomfield (Percussion) of Chaka

I've added my "Italian" labels...no SIAE around, so it still looks an UK release? bit strange

Grutz and Blooblo were basically the same people, Seth Prokop, Mike Woods, Augustine Benjamin, Mathew Devitt, Ray Tickle, John Ward. They had 3 lps out

Can't believe I found an Italian copy of this, absolutely identical save for "made in Italy" writings
