Notes

Privilege is a film that was initially issued in the United Kingdom in February 1967, then was released five months later in the USA. This film mainly concerns a popular singer named Steven Shorter, who has a stage spectacular that involves this singer getting severly beaten by police and ending up in a jail cell.

Mr. Shorter was asked by the government to film an advertisement for various apple growers in an attempt to convince the citizens to eat a large amount of apples to make up for a surplus supply. Moreover, Shorter is requested by the church to have national unity thru which he will perform in a stadium concert where he will repent and espouse spiritual themes in his tunes.

In reality, Paul Jones, who played Shorter and performed three tunes of this film, was a member of the Manfred Mann band. In addition to singer Paul Jones, the Mike Leander Orchestra had sang the majority of the tunes, and the George Bean Runner Beans had sung two tunes. Furthermore, George Bean had popularized the tune "It Should Be You," which was the first composition of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Even though this disc did not sell well, this film leads one to believe that a free country can become a dictatorship if the population fails to stop the power-hungry people.
