Notes

Charles Henry "Casey" Anderson was a blues and folk singer, composer and guitarist who had recorded several discs of 33.33 rpm and those of 45 rpm chiefly by means of the Atco and Elektra recording companies.

Although Mr. Anderson had listened to folk and country music during his boyhood years, he had started performing in jazz groups while he attended Maryland State College. After Mr. Anderson graduated, he relocated to Alabama to teach at a secondary school during the day and maintain a musical career by performing at entertainment clubs and local spectaculars during the night hours.

After Mr. Anderson had completed his Armed Forces duty in Korea, he quit teaching and moved to New York City at where he recorded and had issued his first disc of 33.33 rpm which was called Casey Sings Out.

A few years later, Mr. Anderson had gotten a contract with Atco recording studios where he recorded four discs of 33.33 rpm. By means of his fourth and final Atco disc of 33.33 rpm, which was this one, ten of the twelve tunes were composed by Mr. Anderson. Furthermore, the front jacket image of this disc was that of Christa Paffgen, who eventually became the female vocalist of the Velvet Underground from which her recording name was internationally renowned Nico.

Finally, in 1970, Mr. Anderson was rumored to have composed more than three hundred tunes and have played fourteen instruments in styles of jazz, popular, country and rock music.
