Notes

Grant "Jackie" Ivory, who was born in Arkansas in 1937, was a successful bandleader who had mastered playing the Hammond B-3 organ. Additionally, he was a sideman for saxofonist Junior Walker and other rhythm and blues and jazz musicians.

Even though "Wild Bill" Davis was Mr. Ivory's instrumental inspiration, his sound is totally different from that of Mr. Davis. For example, Jackie had a unique way to infuse happiness into every type of music that he played. Accordingly, the music had exploded with rhythmic authority when he worked through rock and roll pieces, had beautifully zig-zagged through various ballads and had added clarity to his swingingly controlled jazz tunes.

Despite the fact that this disc of 33.33 rpm did not sell well, Mr. Ivory owned a night club that was called Nesbitt Club Casino that had not only presented prosperous blues singers such as Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, but this club had also become a training ground and hangout for local musicians who wanted to prosper in the music industry. Sadly, Mr. Ivory passed away the 20 August 2013 at the Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.

This was the first Atco disc of 33.33 rpm that ever indicated mono by means of the front jacket simply because mono discs were still the standard and stereofonic discs di 33.33 rpm were still the minority in the first half of the 1960s. The catalog ID #s were identified near the middle of the bottom part of the LP by means of a rectangle which contained three parameters that indicated the sound type (mono/stereo), the label name, and the catalog ID #. Furthermore, the rectangle that enclosed these parameters had an arrow that pointed to the left (the 1st parameter) and an arrow that pointed to the right (the 3rd parameter). Although the stereofonic issues of such Atco discs had the same three parameters that were enclosed in a rectangle but were indicated near the middle of the top part of their respective discs of 33.33 rpm.
