This L.P. was issued near-simultaneously on two labels: Fontana (Aug. 1966); Atco (Sept. 1966).

Two of their hit 45’s suffered a similar fate:
1. “Wild Thing” c/w “With a Girl Like You” on Fontana F-1548 and Atco 45-6415 (both May 1966).
2. “I Can’t Control Myself” c/w “Gonna Make You Mine" on Fontana F-1557 and Atco 45-6444 (both Sept. 1966).

The Troggs comprised: Reg Presley (lead vocals, tambourine), Chris Britton (lead guitar), Peter Lawrence Staples (bass) and Ronnie Bond (drums). Reg Presley composed seven of the tunes on the “Wild Thing” L.P., including the top 30 Billboard classic, “With a Girl Like You.”

Their follow-up L.P. for the U.S. market, “Love is All Around” was only issued on Fontana.

In 1967 a spoken-word version of “Wild Thing” was released by "Senator Bobby Kennedy" (a Chip Taylor's demo!) and reached number 20 on the Billboard National Charts.
