Notes

Although Michael "Jimmy" James is a soul music singer who is based in the United Kingdom since April 1964, Mr. James was reared in Jamaica at where he recorded with record producers Coxsone Dodd, Clancy Eccles and Lyndon Pottinger. After Mr. James had joined the Vagabonds by means of band manager Roger Smith, they all relocated to the United Kingdom, where the Vagabonds was one of the first groups that had recorded ska music in that country.

For a few years, Jimmy and the Vagabonds had played in the same night clubs that the Jimi Hendrix Experience had performed. Eventually, the Vagabonds had signed a recording contract with Pye record label from which this disc of 33.33 rpm was issued. Though this disc of 33.33 rpm was not a highly successful commercial seller, this disc is still the best renowned studio LP that was ever recorded and issued.

Come To Me Softly, which is the most well-known tune of the Vagabonds was very prosperous in the greater Raleigh, NC area simply because this song was a number two success according to the WKIX-AM hit parade of the 2 March 1968.

Finally, Come To Me Softly is a completely different tune than that of Come Softly To Me that the Fleetwoods had popularized in 1959.
