Willie Rosario, who is a musician, composer and bandleader of salsa music, had organized his first band in 1959 in New York City at where he played at the Club Caborrojeno for three years. Additionally, Mr. Rosario was a radio personality at the Spanish-speaking station WADO as his primary means of income.

When Mr. Rosario signed with the Alegre records label in 1962, he traveled with his band to many Central and South American countries and all over the United States. Among Mr. Rosario's best-known compositions are "El Timbal de Carlitos", "Mi Amigo el Payaso" (My friend the Clown) with lyrics by Luis Antonio Ruiz, "El Revendón", "Lluvia" (Rain) and "Cuando No Hay Cariño" (When There's No Love).

Although "De Barrio Obrero a la Quince" was a well-known tune of Mr. Rosario, this composition was actually written by Trinidad Clemente. Besides, Mr. Rosario composed the following jazz tunes "Flip, flop", "Stop and go" and "My Favorite Thing".

This disc of 33.33 rpm, which is the only one that was issued by Atco, contains twelve tunes each of which is associated with the musical categories of Boogaloo, Bomba. Bolera, Guaracha, Mambo Jazz and Guagauanco.
