Okay, RC! That means the 33 only appeared on Brit. issues. EMI Australia used OSX and OEX prefixes for the Columbia label, with SOEX or SOSX on stereo issues.

Yes Neil that's the Australian catalogue number

You might be able to confirm this, RC, but did EMI ever use the 33OSX prefix at any stage, later dropping the '33' to leave only the 'OSX' prefix?(as per my theory expressed a few minutes ago).

We know that much already, RC, it's just that Gordon7009 spotted the album with a Parlophone label but sporting a Columbia catalogue number. Obviously a British issue because the Australian prefix would've been(at a guess) 33OSX, later amended to OEX, then SOEX for stereo issues.

No worries, cptbeefheart. If anyone does have the album, he or she might like to upload the label images to go with cptbeefheart's cover image.

I don't own the album but did a search for it, here's another link where you can see the label

The Columbia trademark's up there on the top-left corner of the cover! The label might be where the mistake was made. Is it possible to see the label, cptbeefheart?

P.S. the movie has become a scarce commodity! I remember seeing it years ago at the Savoy Theatre, Stockton NSW back about 1965 when I was all of 10 years old. I don't think it was ever shown on TV here.

A Parlophone LP with a 33SX cat. no? Columbia, surely?
