Lee Wrecker 27th May 2016		Thanks Phil, I'll probably order a copy anyway it's cheap as chips right now. I'm not an audiophile either but my friends and family would tell you otherwise. I can't stand a bad mix on any device which is odd because I'm near deaf in one ear and have tinnitus so I don't know how I do it but I can be a bit particular on that score.



PhilMH 27th May 2016		Hi Lee, it sounds fine to me, though I must strongly qualify that by saying that I have a below-average turntable (hoping to get a decent one this year once my renovations are out of the way), and I don't have any other copy of this LP, though all but the title track appeared on the 1975 double LP compilation GREAT DAY. I'm also not much of an audiophile, to be honest!



Lee Wrecker 27th May 2016		Hi Phil, I nearly bought this the other day so how does it compare to the other releases of this album? I find the 4Men to unpredictable in terms of quality of releases. Not the catalogue mind you as they do choose very wisely in terms of what they release it's just sometimes the mixes don't sound quite right. Most commonly bass heavy transferred from a digital master on the other hand they can get everything right and produce a clear balanced record that is better than the original. My question is how does this fair in those terms?

PhilMH 30th Oct 2015		See Runt Records' online shop for a front cover image. All but the title track from this 1962 LP were included on the 1975 twofer GREAT DAY (MIlestone M-47028), which was issued on CD sometime in the late 1980s or early 1990s. The title track finally made it onto CD on the 2004 compilation THE ULTIMATE STAPLE SINGERS: A FAMILY AFFAIR (Kent CDKEN2 240). That song was also rerecorded by the group in 1964 for their Epic album AMEN! (LN 24132/BN 26132). Admins/mods: this reissue is in stereo only, but as Riverside originally issued this in both mono and stereo, should this be made "Stereo LP"?
