Notes

CB Feb 10, 1968

When this group was founded in Cleveland in 1966, the original members were Bob Leonard, the keyboardist, Mike Barnes, the folk guitarist and vocalist, Barrow Davidian, the twelve-string guitarist and vocalist, Rick Hohn, the bassist and Tom Schuster, the drummer. During the time that this disc was recorded, Barrow Davidian and Rick Hohn had departed from the group. Thus, Robb Clarke-Murphy had become the new bassist and the group had become a quartet.

On the 2 March 1968, this group had performed at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit with the Big Brother And Holding Company, MC5 and the Pink Peech Mob. The second time that the Tiffany Shade performed at the Grande Ballroom 5 April 1968, the other two bands that were present were MC5 and the Troggs.

With the exception of the Amboy Dukes music, Mainstream Records owner Bob Shad had not done a good job to promote the discs of many psychedelic rock groups, such as The Jelly Bean Bandits, Tiffany Shade, Bohemian Vendetta, Tangerine Zoo and the Growing Concern. Accordingly, these five groups were disbanded between late 1968 and early 1969.

Although this is the only disc of 33.33 rpm that the Tiffany Shade had recorded and issued, this disc contains nine original compositions and one composition, which was Softly To Me, was composed by Bryan MacLean, who was a member of the rock group "Love". In fact, by means of both the reverse jacket and the b-side of this disc tune B1 is mistakenly indicated Come Softly To Me, which was originally written and recorded by the Fleetwoods. Accordingly, the correct tune name is Softly To Me that was originally recorded by the rock group "Love".

Finally, this disc was monaurally and stereofonically in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
