The first issue was released on the plum and red Atlantic label in a textured gatefold sleeve and contained a black and white lyric insert (with illustration).
Cover photograph taken by Henry Diltz at an abandoned house at 815 Palm Avenue, West Hollywood.
The figure on the back of the sleeve is Dallas Woodrow Taylor Jr. who was the drummer on this album.
100% Stereo only. The US might have a white label Mono folddown for Radio. But this was mixed and mastered in stereo and there is no chance of a Mono UK edition.
I took a look on discogs, where there are 51 versions of this album, including this first issue UK stereo version, 588189.
I cannot say for sure, but I doubt that this release was also first issued in mono on 587189, the code maybe used by Atlantic / Polydor, alongside this stereo version.
I would be happily proven wrong.....
