ppint. ● 29th Mar 2023		concerning your recollections, yr hmbl srppnt. is unable to squeak authoritatively, modom; but certainly, the cbs label & group in the yuk-of-gb-&-ni and the pye records label & group had not moved to stereo records only by 1968.° ° - this could, yr hmbl srppnt. s'poses, be adduced as evidence that pye records was not in fact one of the majors - but, cbs ?

ppint. ● 25th Mar 2023		this is, or should be a stereo copy, see the merkin columbia label stereo lp cat# quoted parenthetically on the cbs label. see also the boxed advice across the bottom rear of the cbs record's card sleeve. cbs moved from prefixes bpg & sbpg to no prefix & s, to no prefix (almost all releases ''stereo playable mono'') with ''mono'' stated for relatively rare reissues of mono-only historic recordings; they later reintroduced an s prefix, somewhat erratically - i'm not sure why - with m as a prefix on historic mono-only recordings, also somewhat erratically. . . then iiuc, all cbs european pressing moved to holland. philmh almost certainly has the date engraved on his heart, brain, hard disk, or possibly microchip(s). . .
