Notes

DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON GESELLSCHAFT release
MGM label

The above album was Connie's first compilation of German material to be recorded for LP release to a specific theme, both earlier albums in this language being made up. for the most part, of tracks previously issued on singles. The set was designed as the German equivalent to USA MGM E/SE 4298 CONNIE FRANCIS SINGS ALL TIME INTERNATIONAL HITS and, translated literally, the album title reads "MELODIES THAT CONQUER THE WORLD". All German vocals are overdubs to the original backings provided on the English, Spanish and Italian-sung tracks, with the exception of HEISSER SAND, not previously recorded by Connie. WENN DU IN MEINEN TRAUMEN BEI MIR BIST features the original accompaniment to OVER THE RAINBOW as issued on AUSTRALIA LP MGM (S)02 7592 CONNIE FRANCIS AWARD WINNING MOTION PICTURE HITS. BLAUE NACHT AM HAFEN is a second dual tracked recording cut for this album on June 18th, 1966. The original single and dual track recordings, cut on November 11, 1965, remained unissued until their inclusion in the 1988 release BEAR FAMILY/POLYDOR BFX 15305[9] CONNIE FRANCIS IN DEUTSCHLAND.

Record label give title as MELODIEN DIE DIE WELT EROBERTEN, using the past tense of the word "EROBERN", and translating as MELODIES THAT CONQUERED THE WORLD. The set was the last in this series of catalog numbers to be pressed in mono.

Same content and album design as GERMAN MGM 65 061.
