The above release, handled by the PolyTel division of PolyGram Inc., became the fourth Connie Francis compilation to be given the TV promotion treatment in Canada. The first such campaign on a Connie Francis release to be conducted by PolyGram; previous TV packages had been the Canadian pressing of USA Sessions SG-69 'CONNIE' (1975), TEE VEE RECORDS TA-1097 CONNIE FRANCIS: 20 FAVOURITES (1978) and SHOW CASE HO-701 CONNIE FRANCIS - HER ORIGINAL HITS (1982).

This album features 20 of the 24 tracks contained on the USA SUFFOLK MARKETING TV-promoted 2-LP package SMI-1-50 PR TREASURY OF LOVE SONGS and SMI-1-51 PR SENTIMENTAL FAVORITES. The four omitted selections are:

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME
STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT
BEAUTIFUL OHIO

Running order of the above, however, is based on the 10 remaining selections on SMI-1-51 followed by the 10 on SMI-1-50. Whether by coincidence, or design, the single sleeve housing 2 albums features a reproduction of original album SENTIMENTAL FAVORITES on the front, and that of TREASURY OF LOVE SONGS on the back. Sleeve spine and record labels give the compilation its official [condensed] title of A SENTIMENTAL TREASURY.

Of historical note is that A SENTIMENTAL TREASURY became the world's first Connie Francis compact disc release. Album sleeves, however, only credit LP and MC editions.
