| | Hello robozuc,
Sincere apologies, having just read that part of the comment back I can see why you consider it offensive. That was not my intent at all and those comments were not meant to be directed at you directly or anyone specific for that matter and more to all site users. Furthermore, it was meant be an attempt to encourage users to look at that issue not make accusations. I see I've got it wrong on that score too. Apologies for that also. |

... If you don't like how this is panning out you should do something about the category not invent criteria that DON'T exist on this site to suit personal preferences.
Sorry Lee does't seem a little excessive, for a simple discussion?
However I will leave my doubts aside, and I will soon find a solution, I remind you that being a Moderator is not my only occupation in life, I have a job like all other people for six days a week.
The idea is to combine the two versions highlighting the European and American labels as much as possible in the images. |

| | I only dropped in to apologise for the leaving of my image (copied from amazon) at the top of the page,
I wish you all well in sorting out these territorial issues, I'm not getting involved.
I stay away from CD Album world for these reasons.
VHS, cassette / CD singles, and 20th century 33/45/78 formats are so much easier to categorise, usually...... |

| | How Discogs categorises items is irrelevant and just because there are very slight differences does not contravene the fact that the primary information ie. cat#, label and barcode are all the same. The differences mentioned by robozuc are not used as identifiers in our system of entry and therefore inconsequential in this discussion. I will go to the shops today or tomorrow and see which copy is available in Australia (EU would be my guess) and then ask to have that made international.
The USA release would surely have made its way across the borders to Canada Mexico and most likely further south too. I very much doubt that this album was only released in the EU and USA as Discogs lists it but that is due to their entry criteria and not ours. We all know this album was a global number one in every format- so it has to be international. There were only two releases with the same details and they were sold worldwide. The minor issues with label codes, rights societies and parent company logos are not considered as entry criteria here.
In this case that information should be treated like a variant label as we usually do with similar releases that are printed in different places (plants) or reissues where rights societies and label codes usually do not match anyway due to differences in time of release. Precisely why we don't use these as criteria I'm presuming.
If you don't like how this is panning out you should do something about the category not invent criteria that DON'T exist on this site to suit personal preferences. |

| | Sorry for delay robozuc (and Lee). I only added my image as a temporary measure 2 years ago, fully expecting it to be replaced (have kept it in the hidden section for reference).
The label text variances make it clear there should be at least 2 entries. |

| | U.S. version.
Label Code and Rights Societies are NOT PRESENT on the label.
Sony Music and its logo DO NOT appear on the label as they do on the EU version.
_ _ _ _
this is what I read on Discogs and maybe it's the only reason why I'm dubious about having a single international release. |

| | This or the USA version is available for sale in Australia which makes them all international. There are NO differences in cat#, label or barcode between the USA and EU release and that in itself is enough to make them international. One or both of these is available in shops here in Australia to this day. It is irrelevant though as the details are identical from the EU to USA release and this should be made international. Also, I'd bet my bottom dollar that the USA release is also the Canadian release. |

| | I think robozuc's scan of an actual cover should be promoted to the lead image and also that this and the USA release need to be merged and made international. Why? Simply because everything matches except the country of manufacture. Check the linked US release against this and you'll see what I mean. Looks like CD Albums world is coming Vinyl Albums world in the modern era. I would, of course, prefer them listed separately but unfortunately the facts don't stack up unless place of manufacture is enough to keep them the way they are. Whatever the case is we may need to revisit this entry so they both follow the same logic. At the moment they are listed differently but essentially are the same type of release. |

| | This and the USA version are identical in cat#s both copies have these two cat#s 88875173871 / 88875173871 S1 visible and were released on the same day on the the same string of three labels with the same bar code. International? I know that's crazy CD World talk but place of manufacture is the only discernible difference between these two.
Strange that this album is not listed like the follow up 12" EP "No Plan"
here. We may need to have a good hard look at these and come up with something better. |

|
gregs45s SUBS 13th Jun 2016
| | This is a duplication isn't it?,the "UK" one that is already on the system is the same thing,i.e,there are two versions :
European - 88875173871 / 88875173871 S1
US - 88875173871
Therefore one will have to be deleted or merged.

| | Actually nboldock there's more than front cover that are the same the cat # 88875173871, release date and bar code 888751738713 are all the same. Country of manufacture stated on the printed side of the label and the fine print on the back cover would be the only way to tell a US copy apart from a UK release. |

| | Tis a good point actually, as it doesn't really look like the image we have here...It's blacker.
Actually isn't this just the same as the US one we have listed? The front certainly is. |

Six of you own this and it's over a month after its release and there are no actual scans of anything - only one photo stolen off the net. Come on get it together someone. | | In the US a limited edition of 5000 of this has been pressed up in clear vinyl. My mate was going to get me one but the shop had only got one copy in when he went on Friday. He ordered one for me but that was on Friday, things changed somewhat over the next 3 days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed he can still get one.
Problems with my PC at the moment, will try photos to get images added when sorted. |

| | My copy will be arriving next week on pre-order from the US but I can't wait I was very impressed with the Next Day and this looks like it might top that to me. I'm hoping for weirder and a more difficult listen - if you get my drift. Time will tell but I'm such a fan I'll love it anyway it turns out I think. |

| | Just got this, out on Friday. It won't fit on my scanner but I may try a photo unless someone gets there first. Regarding the plastic inner sleeve... I hope they've been reading the various comments regarding that on this site! It's thick as in brittle, I'll chance it.
The plastic shrink wrap also has a 2'' square clear sticker in white capital letters :-
