Notes Release info of this disc of 33.33 rpm is found by means of the 2 March 1957 edition of the Billboard magazine on page 30 and continued on page 36. Oscar Pettiford was a jazz musician who played both the double bass and the cello. Mr. Pettiford had specialized in bebop, which is a style of jazz of which musical compositions are characterized by a fast tempo, complex chord progressions with rapid chord changes and numerous changes of key from one tonal sound to another. Furthermore, bebop jazz led to the development of rock and roll music. Despite the prosperity of Mr. Pettiford, this disc did NOT sell well and with the exception of some jazz music listeners, this disc is NOT highly sought-after collectible.
