Notes The Candymen, of which the five members were John Rainey Adkins (lead guitarist), William “Shakin’ Bill” Gilmore (bass guitar), Rodney Justo (vocalist), Robert Nix (drummer) and Dean “Ox” Daughtry (keyboardist), was a rock band that specialized in country-rock music. For a few years, this band had toured with Roy Orbison, who was a collaborator with songwriter and record mogul Perry Carlton “Buddy” Buie, who had produced this group, and composed many tunes with group members John Adkins and Rob Nix. Though the Candymen were not an eternal rock group, they had managed to record at Bill Lowery's Master Sound Studio in Atlanta two discs of 33.33 rpm and six discs of 45 rpm, which were all issued by means of ABC records. Four tunes of the first two ABC discs of 45 rpm, one of which was Georgia Pines b/w Movies In My Mind (ABC 45-10995) and the other Deep In The Night b/w Stone Blues Man (ABC 45- 11023) were taken directly from their first ABC disc of 33.33 rpm. Four songs of the next two discs of 45 rpm, one of which was Ways b/w Sentimental Lady (ABC 45-11048) and the other Candyman b/w Crowded Room (ABC 45-11077) were of the second ABC disc of 33.33 rpm, Bring You Power. The tunes fifth ABC disc of 45 rpm, It's Gonna Get Good In A Minute b/w Go And Tell The People were not issued from any LP disc. The final ABC disc of 45 rpm of this group had consisted of two tunes, Lonely Eyes, which was of their self-titled album and another I’ll Never Forget, which was of the Bring You Power LP. Though this disc of 33.33 rpm had peaked at position # 195 by means of the Billboard hit parade of albums and at # 98 thru the Cash Box hit parade of albums, this is considered a highly sought-after disc for country rock listeners.
