Lee Wrecker 13th Dec 2016		Yeah, Phil and this one has all the marks of a Joker release too (stamps on the label and just look at that frog) but I think there was some loophole in Italian law for a while that saw a lot of old blues stuff repackaged and distributed globally - I got this copy in Brisbane. Italy, Canada then onto Australia is my guess but I agree it is most likely an illegitimate release (royalties wise certainly) but most likely produced within the law in Italy at the time. Is semi-legitimate a word? Anyway I think that would apply to this record and all the other Joker Chess releases in the 80's and there were lots of them too.



PhilMH 13th Dec 2016		It's hard to tell from some European reissues of Chess material whether they are legit or not; this one doesn't have any mention of Charly and/or Red Dog Express, who spent the next decade and a half (or thereabouts) trying to defend the indefensible, so probably was legitimately licensed from Sugarhill, who owned the catalogue at the time, but there's no mention of them either!



Lee Wrecker 13th Dec 2016		Full set of scans added - I didn't bother separating the gatefold in two as there's not much there to bother about. Phewee, black edged labels are hard to get right or even close but there in, even though some are a bit oval shaped.



Lee Wrecker 12th Dec 2016		I gave this away a few years back but the bloke I gave it to has brought it back because his turntable has finally given up the ghost so I'll scan it up later today. Can't work out why I gave it away though it's a pretty good record.
