Probably my fault for not checking for a spaced version.

I think the search function is not as flexible as it was. The original entry has a space after the ACB.

Funny, it didn't come up when I searched under the cat# before I entered it. Merge away!

I found the earliest ad from The Audio Club of Britain from the Sunday Mirror - Sunday 25 January 1976. Image of advert added. Looking at the ad 8 down and 3 across there's the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album. Best guess for this release at the moment then is 1976. That would certainly tie in with my memories of buying it originally.

It was definitely not economic to belong to the club although the cheap albums to start with were tempting.

I did a bit of rooting around and found this advert for the Audio Club Of Britain from 1981. The terms of membership weren't as bad as i remember. You only had to take 3 albums a year for 2 years or buy another 6 albums over any period then you could cancel your membership. But after the initial 6 for every 2 you bought you got a 3rd free. So wasn't that bad after all

I remember it well. It seemed good at the start and then you realised you were trapped! It cost an arm and a leg - cheaper to catch a bus into town and go to Selectadisc!

I'm nearly sure it was Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy, along with BJH's Everyone Is Everybody Else and the Hendrix Smash Hits album. If I remember correctly you only paid full price for one album and the others were free as an introductory offer. You could keep them or send them back but if you kept them you had to take one a month for at least a year. That would either be an album of your choice or their star pick of the month album.

Was the Who LP "Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy"? Or maybe Odds & Sods?

Managed to find this disc today to be able to give it it's own entry. Inner lyric sleeve which came with the original WWA pressing never came with this issue. I've left the date blank as the original is 1973 but this one was maybe 1974 / 75. I certainly remember after getting married in 1975 and getting my first house I bought this album from the Audio Club of Britain along with a Who, Hendrix and Barclay James Harvest album.
