Many of these songs were penned by Bill Shepherd who would later arrange strings for the Bee Gees - The musicians were studio musicians and different groups recorded for the Pickwick based label in the U.S. and Great Britain where they were called Billy and the Pepperpots. Several labels were used such as Hurrah and Allegro in England. Sometimes the group changed names such as The Liverpool Beats on Rondo
